To “pocket” the hands, a gesture or physical action that echos the emotional prompt of self-preservation and safety. A situation where bacteria is transported through time and space, as a particular type of trace due a moment of vulnerable feeling. These pouches, second skins and extensions of the body through fabric capture bacteria carried by the hands, but also the trace of the gesture influenced by vulnerability.

Extractions / Data-Collected-From-Pouches / 34 Jars of Stuff

In examining these areas, we expose the otherwise hidden evidence (now jarred), of a particular kind of guarded and private self-touch, often during public times of exposure.

Specimens of living debris collected through a vulnerable gesture. Diary entries of subtle and personal retreat, self-connection and comfort felt through the hidden hug of small fabric pouches against the hands, bottled up like terrariums.
